Aleksey Balakirev began working in television in the mid-1990s, right after finishing school. He gained valuable experience at a small local TV company and later graduated from the Krasnodar State University of Culture. He studied under leading documentary filmmakers and completed an advanced training course at GITR. He has worked with REN TV, VGTRK, and NTV. Aleksey joined the RT Documentary team in 2023 as a cameraman. In a short time, he has taken part in a wide range of projects – 'Hero Wives', 'I Want Peace & Quiet', 'Yakuts at War', 'Voices from the grave', 'Mali: Au Revoir, France', 'Nuclear Watchdogs', 'Marriage Scammer: Till Cash Do Us Part', 'Man of Iron', 'We are Russia!', and many others.
